The Support Our #creatives® podcast is now an Award-Winner! I am excited to announce that the Support Our #creatives podcast has won its first award! From the 2024 Davey Awards in the Podcasts Category; Individual Episodes-Interview or Talk, Silver 2024.

How did we get here?

Starting the Support Our #creatives® podcast is one of my great achievements. I get to interview creatives I have known for a long time and have worked on their projects, as well as meeting new people through networking and interviewing them, although I have not worked with them (YET!). As a side effect I have been learning about live streaming, editing, and repurposing episodes.
It began with the Clubhouse app in 2021 where I finally felt confident entering the audio space and having regularly-scheduled interviews. And when the Clubhouse app provided the capability of saving the shows, the Support Our #creatives podcast was born (late 2021) and I repurposed the originally-live episodes (audio only) and putting them on streaming platforms such as Spotify.
And starting in 2024, I graduated to using StreamYard as the host of my live streaming, this time with full video and audio capability. I have finally achieved a level of comfort with video and audio (I still am nervous but that does not in the least minimize the accomplishment). I do my interviews live, using StreamYard as my host. I have configured StreamYard to live stream this live interview to Facebook and YouTube (I call this “live-live”). StreamYard simutaneously records the interview. I repurpose the recording generated by StreamYard and put the “replay” on many streaming platforms. Spotify is the best of the popular streamers, because it supports video/audio product (anyone with a Spotify account and is logged into Spotify can experience the full video/audio experience). As part of repurposing, I add Intro and Outro content. I also have commercials, about Support Our #creatives as well as other promos.
Also in 2024, I discovered that many award-presenting organizations now have podcast categories. This is my chance! After all, some people do films, others do series, others do music, and on and on. Their works have been submitted to festivals or award shows. Many projects I have been a part of have been submitted to film festivals and award shows. And they have won awards. I do a podcast – it is my primary intellectual property. I decided it was time to enter them via submitting the podcast inself and/or individual episodes of the podcast. The Davey Awards is just one example.
