Fiona is a Tanzanian American writer-director working as a Writer’s Assistant on Netflix’s TV Show Bridgerton S3, S4, and S5. She previously worked at Google’s Creative Lab in NYC, Bad Robot, Annapurna, NBCUniversal, Meta, and Media Res, all while building an online audience for her music during her spare time. Fiona loves telling stories about highly anxious queer protagonists desperately seeking love and acceptance.|

Her romcom feature screenplay, I’m Begging You to Date Me, advanced as a 2025 Semifinalist for Blue Cat, Finalist for the 2024 Nashville Film Fest, Finalist for Flicker’s Rhode Island, second round ISA Fellowship Fast Track Program, Quarterfinalist of the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards, and Quarterfinals of Finish Line’s Screenwriting competition. Her TV pilot, The PR Team, also charted at the top of Coverfly’s Red List all last summer after advancing in Screencraft’s 2024 Comedy Pilot Competition, leading her to sign with her manager.
Fiona is currently gearing up to direct her next short film, Two-Timing Gemini, which placed as a Semifinalist for Outstanding Screenplays short competition, as she writes her next big project. She’s a USC Production graduate with a background in producing and directing. She was nominated for a Student Emmy for a short she directed in high school. Her last directed short film, post-grad, Blue Hour, won a 2021 WAVE Grant to be produced. That same year, her drama feature screenplay, Blood, got into the 2nd round of Sundance’s 2021 Development Track.
Outside of filmmaking, Kida is known as a talented guitarist, plant mom, and exceptional chef.
