Introduction

My blog has been documenting my passion for the entertainment industry and my participation in it.  I have come a long way since I started my journey in 2009.  This series of posts documents how I achieved what I call my “greatest success” (among various accomplishments).

There are many articles around about how to get a foothold in the entertainment industry. Of course, there are the various skill sets, such as actor, cinematographer, sound engineer, and many more; some of which I have written about in this blog. People practicing these skills may have gone to school, or gone to acting classes, or got on the job training. However, what about those with “no talent in the creative arts”? That describes me when I started my journey. How would I be able to realize my dream?

PART 2:  I Determine My Mission on Social Media

After starting my social media career with Twitter, I added using Facebook and later Instagram. Once I discovered I could connect with those in the entertainment industry on social media, I was so excited that there was the possibility I could turn my childhood dreams into reality. That is when I decided to make my primary use of these platforms to publicize and support those in the entertainment business.

I learned about their projects. I provided funding via the crowdfunding sources such as IndieGogo. I received assorted perks and on-screen credits. I started building relationships via phone and e-mail with people I initially connected with on social media. I began to learn more about the internal workings of the “biz” from those off-social-media conversations, as well as from those willing to post their experiences on the social media platforms and blogs.

I commenced reading books about the various discipline – especially producing, because most of the credits I was given was in that area.  I was about to take it to the next level with some of my connections.
