Introduction
My blog has been documenting my passion for the entertainment industry and my participation in it. I have come a long way since I started my journey in 2009. This series of posts documents how I achieved what I call my “greatest success” (among various accomplishments).
There are many articles around about how to get a foothold in the entertainment industry. Of course, there are the various skill sets, such as actor, cinematographer, sound engineer, and many more; some of which I have written about in this blog. People practicing these skills may have gone to school, or gone to acting classes, or got on the job training. However, what about those with “no talent in the creative arts”? That describes me when I started my journey. How would I be able to realize my dream?

Final Part: I Achieve My Greatest Success
Amazing how the social media family tree works. It took years before I connected to someone in my area who is a filmmaker – Sharrie Mccain, Jolie East-Miji, and Morgen Whiteman.
I became a funder of Sharrie’s short film “Traveling Vagabond”, and Sharrie invited me to the set on the very last day of principal photography. This marked the beginning of “my greatest success in the entertainment industry”: being on a working set and participating in the action behind the scenes. I got another benefit from that initial set visit. Jolie was the cinematographer that day, whose own web series “B-City” was in production (Season 1 is now available). She invited me to be on set of her project. I was pleased to help fund her project. I connected with Morgen through Sharrie.
I was also on set for each shooting day of Sharrie’s short film “Collision Envisage”. I will also be present as “B-City” shoots its second season.
I hope to have a long relationship with Sharrie, Jolie, and Morgen.
I have discussed with #creatives I have met on set and elsewhere about my desire to work on set with them on their projects. I will keep you posted.
Conclusion
I have written profusely on my blog about my on-set experience. Seeing all the activity going on inspired me to learn more about the many disciplines required producing a film or web series, and the process to do so. I have had many successes in the entertainment industry, including all the connections I have made, working with the production companies, and working on set. That last one is my realization of my childhood dream, and that is why I call it “my greatest success”. Of course, another success is starting this blog to document my experiences. I will chalk up more major milestones and (greater) successes as I continue my journey in the entertainment industry. Please come along with me.
Please provide your thoughts and questions in the comments. I would really enjoy hearing from you. If you have a topic in mind you would like me to cover, please let me know.
